Our party of 6 agreed that this was some of the best food we had ever eaten. The owner came our and talked to us, Larry was very friendly along with the waitress. The food was amazing. We enjoyed the bayou burger, baby-back ribs, Chicken Oscar, ceaser salad and Al's cheese potion #7. The food was outstanding, drinks were super tasty. We were given a complimentary dessert for a 50th birthday, the "cran-burlé" was so yummy. It was casual and the large fireplace warmed the whole restaurant. They were even very accommodating for snowmobilers! Overall we could not be more thrilled with new place! 5 stars and I am recommending it to anyone and everyone I talk to

It's been a while since I've been treated like a guest. Very warm welcome ( literally a roaring fire in the hearth), gracious and considerate hosts and waitstaff. Nice selection of draft beers and a personable bar keep. Waitress who made extra effort to accomodate all of our requests. Top notch food from a nice selection of fare. I will be back soon and intend to bring friends. Worth the 50 minute drive from Rhinelander.

While I have greatly enjoyed Aberdeen on a number of occasions fish fry is not one of them. I recently went wen't to Aberdeen for fish fry on a Friday night before heading down to a Min Aqua Bat's show. Our food came out quickly but it wasn't too our liking. The fish was over battered, sides were okay but nothing great. The biggest travesty of the night though were the "potato pancakes". I was excited to see them offered as an option but they were quite bad. What Aberdeen considers a "potato pancake" is closer to a McDonalds hash brown, it's a deep fried potato puck. Even worse, when I asked if they had apple sauce or sour cream, I was told that they don't. They only serve the potato pancakes with maple syrup!?!?

Our family stayed in a cabin over New Years and we all decided we liked the lodge restaurant. Casual & charming. Our meals were prepared much better than previous reviews would suggest. Keep in mind a new owner took over the restaurant in late summer of 2014 so it appeared to us they've made some really nice changes. Service was just fine. The menu selection is more than ample. The chefs have Louisiana roots so the menu pays homage to them with a few of the selections. The owner was extremely friendly and gave us tips on the area. Overall we were happy with our dinner and would return without hesitation. Beautiful area with the added perk of a nice lodge restaurant on site.

This place if off the beaten path for sure, isn't that one of the reasons folks head into the Northwoods. Unlike a previous poster my Garmin can find it, not that I needed it too because their sign is billboard sized and lit. One of the most beautiful lodge spots in the Manitowish Waters area. The food is nicely done, the service is well executed. My wife and I like the place enough that we had our wedding there. Ceremony though Recption.

We drove almost 45 minutes with our party of 7 to check out this supposedly awesome restaurant we'd heard so much about... The building itself did not disappoint. It is an impressive structure with large log beams and floor to ceiling windows in the main dining room facing the lake. The bar is a cozy feeling place, although we could not get a smile out of the bartender for the life of us. The acoustics are a little loud due to the high ceilings, but we all enjoyed the overall atmosphere. The food and service, however, left a lot to be desired. As it was Friday, most of us had some version of the Fish Fry. the young waitresses seemed hurried and impatient and did not take the time to explain any parts of the menu to us, rushing away before we could order drinks. The food was just okay. The "Potato pancakes" are frozen tater-tots, and the pan-fried Walleye I had was tasty but full of bones. The others in our party expressed similar ambivalence about their meals. Finally, while the restaurant appears to be very family friendly at first (a room with a chalkboard for children, little chairs, etc.) we saw two potentially dangerous situations during our visit. A little girl about 6 leaned against a room divider which was not secured to anything. It went crashing to the ground pinning her arm in the hinges. Luckily she was not hurt. In the handicapped stall of the women's bathroom a full-sized changing table seems nice, until you notice the gallon of bleach sitting on the bottom shelf of it, fully accessible to curious toddlers waiting for mom. We all agreed that the place was not really worth all the hype it has received.

Went with a party of 4 and it was an adventure to find the place. We put in the address in our Garmin and it was not even close. Back to the main road and then we see a sign pointing us in the right direction (which was light-up). Down the road was another sign with no lights that we drove past the first time. Down the 0.25 mile gravel road through the trees you finally find the lodge... We enjoyed Salmon, chicken and steak. Everything was okay, but not off the scale awesome. If you can find it, it is worth the drive.

THANK YOU Aberdeen, for raising the bar to better dining in the Northwoods!! NEW OWNERS last summer, so please disregard any reviews prior to June 2014!! This is our new favorite place in area! Gorgeous venue - log-style building, large windows with a water view AND sunset view! Interesting yet affordable menu. Great variety, sandwiches are great, especially the French Dip, the Ribs are excellent, amazing soups vary by the day. Chef from Texas keeps things flavorful!!! Highly recommend!!!
